Title: Yam and Apple Casserole

2mdGranny Smith apples, peeled
  Cored &
  Sliced
2 (16 oz.) canned yams --
  Drained
4tbUnsalted butter -- melted
1/2cLight brown sugar -- firmly
  Packed
1/2cDark corn syrup
2tbDry sherry
1tsCinnamon
1/8tsSalt

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 10 inch round pan/dish. Process yams in food processor with 2 tablespoons batter, sugar, corn syrup, sherry, cinnamon and salt until smooth. Spread 1/2 of mixture in dish; arrange 1/2 of apples; repeat. Brush with remaining butter; cover and refrigerate if made ahead. Bring to room temperature before baking. Bake 30 minutes uncovered. Perfect with your holiday turkey.
